THE ROUTES WE PROPOSE
Distance: 90 km.
Accumulated ascent: 400 meters.
We will leave for the town of Boca de Yuma, a small fishing village located at the mouth of the Yuma River. After a first section of 20 km along inland roads and trails that are not too demanding, but that require a certain skill in #MTB, we will enter the cane plantations, kilometer-long extensions in which we will cross through bateyes, the towns where the workers of the cane, sugar mills, collection stations, and the cane train. After the cane path we will face the last section, the climb to the cliff that will take us to Playa Grande and the Yuma River. On the other side of the river, in the town, a transport will wait for us to return us to the hotel, but first we will have to cross the river aboard a fishing boat.
Distance: 85 km.
Accumulated ascent: 750 meters.
This is a demanding route that requires more #MTB technique due to the places it runs through.
Leaving from the hotel lobby, we will roll to the town of La Ceiba, where we will leave the asphalt to enter the Dominican countryside: technical ascents, steep ramps, trails, fast descents, rivers, cattle and probably some mud await us on this route. through the greenest heart of the province of La Altagracia.
It is important to be in adequate physical condition because, although the accumulated ascent is not excessive, the country’s hot and humid conditions make any route require considerable effort. It is important to be well hydrated all the time, as well as to bring anti-mosquito lotion and sun protection.
All our routes include supplies during the tour (water, fruit and sandwiches), mechanical assistance, and support vehicle.
These routes are the ones we propose, but we have other alternatives with more or less physical demand, duration and different places of passage. If you indicate your preferences, we will adapt them without any problem.
Remember that all our proposals include the reception at the nearest airport, the transfer to the hotel, mechanical assistance, set-up and daily washing of the bicycles, supplies during the tour, assistance throughout the stay and transfer back to the airport.
